ArtMED Releases AMOD Best Practices Collection

01/10/2024

We are pleased to announce the release of the AMOD Best Practices Collection. This comprehensive guide outlines the current landscape of Autonomous Mobility On Demand (AMOD) in the Euro-Mediterranean region, offering valuable insights, innovative case studies, and practical recommendations for stakeholders in public transportation.

What is AMOD?

Autonomous Mobility On Demand (AMOD) combines the flexibility of Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT) with Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) to create efficient, eco-friendly public transport solutions. In the Euro-MED region, over 40.6 million people in sparsely populated areas face limited access to reliable public transport. AMOD provides a transformative approach, reducing reliance on private cars, cutting carbon emissions, and enhancing access to essential services.

Why This Matters

This report marks a significant milestone for the ArtMED Project, which seeks to drive innovation in public transportation through the adoption of AMOD solutions. Whether in urban or rural settings, improved mobility is crucial. The insights provided in this document are intended to empower Public Transport Authorities (PTAs) and other stakeholders to develop their own AMOD initiatives, ultimately enhancing accessibility and reducing environmental impacts.
