How can we turn visionary concepts into tangible change in our regions? At the recent Greek-Cypriot partners’ meeting in Patras, held on Tuesday, May 29th 2025, under the Mission “Green Living Areas” we had the opportunity to explore this question alongside pioneering projects from across Europe. The event, bringing together innovation leaders from the Euro-Mediterranean area, served as a living laboratory of solutions designed to shape greener, more inclusive, and more connected places.
The Institute of Entrepreneurship Development (iED) was proud to take part in this inspiring gathering representing ArtMED. As a project dedicated to Autonomous Mobility on Demand in sparsely populated and remote areas, ArtMED aims to revolutionize the way people move, live, and interact in rural and semi-rural environments. By introducing intelligent, sustainable mobility systems, we envision a future where connection does not depend on location — and where transportation reduces, rather than increases, our ecological footprint.
The event in Patras offered a platform not only to present ArtMED, but also to learn from and connect with other groundbreaking initiatives under the Green Living Areas Mission. Together, these projects demonstrate a shared commitment to real, citizen-driven transformation:
-
BAUHAUS4MED – Empowering communities to co-design public spaces that foster collective responsibility and belonging.
-
Streets for Citizens – Promoting tactical urbanism to transform public areas into people-friendly environments.
-
RENEWPORT – Redefining ports as clean energy hubs, accelerating the transition from fossil fuels to sustainable sources.
-
GARDEN – Advancing food systems that are both healthy and environmentally sound.
-
REMED – Supporting digital solutions for urban climate adaptation and resilience.
-
CO₂ PACMAN – Using immersive XR/VR technologies to raise awareness and facilitate acceptance of green transitions.
-
EnerCmed – Democratizing energy sufficiency through participatory governance models.
-
GREENMO – Establishing mobility hubs that connect communities and make sustainable travel accessible.
These initiatives are not theoretical. They are already underway, demonstrating what is possible when innovation, policy, and community engagement come together under a shared mission.
As ArtMED continues its journey, we remain committed to cross-project collaboration, learning, and exchange. We are grateful to the event organizers for providing a space to connect, share, and reflect on the work ahead.
Let’s keep moving forward — together — toward more liveable, equitable, and resilient territorie
