In ArtMED, the 4 Public Transport Authorities learn to plan for AMOD through vision statements, investment plans and transport model designs with the AMOD impact assessment tool. Here is a brief summary of the investment plan from Metropolitan Transport for Lisbon.
The ArtMED Investment Plan (IP) aims to promote, in the provinces of Brescia and Mantova, an autonomous, sustainable, and inclusive mobility system that enhances access to essential services for residents and tourists in the critical area, reduces the environmental impact of public transport, encourages territorial integration between urban, rural, and tourist areas. The IP focuses on expanding public transport (PT) in underserved areas, enhancing accessibility, reducing CO2 emissions, and fostering technological innovation. The pilot areas include Monte Isola and Collebeato (Brescia) and Oltrepò Mantovano and Curtatone (Mantova). Each location addresses specific needs and the strategy involves implementing demand-responsive transport (DRT) systems, autonomous and electric vehicles, and digital infrastructure. The project roadmap unfolds in three phases: feasibility studies and stakeholder engagement (0-1 year), pilot testing and infrastructure development (1-3 years), and full implementation with continuous monitoring (3-5 years). Key expected impacts include a 30% reduction in CO2 emissions, improved social inclusion, and local economic growth through new jobs and increased tourism. The project leverages diverse funding sources and integrates a robust monitoring system with performance indicators covering environmental, operational, social, and economic aspects.
